Why you should not just think about studying in your home country?
Like how each food and each fruit tastes different, each place you are in or you visit has its own feature. Sometimes, it depends upon someone’s preference, some luck and some circumstance that let you decide what’s best for oneself.
Whether you are in your homeland or in a foreign land, whether for study, on a visit or for work, undoubtedly, you’ll always have the chances or the misses, the highs and the lows or the fights and wins. After all, we’re humans and we have untamed expectations, don’t we?
Studying in your home country:
You must have heard the saying, everyone’s a tiger once in your comfort zone but once out, you act like a cat. In your home country, surrounded with your own people who speak the same as you, act like you and sometimes even may walk like you, you feel privileged.
The language, the ethnicity and the preparedness provide you with a sense of coziness wherever you are. When it comes to studies, the culture that you’ve developed since your childhood to take things for granted prevails, even when you progress further. You have friends, family by your side who back you up, protect you, guide you in every step and that’s the time you feel that’s the best anyone could have in their life.
But, is it just what life’s all about? How about the struggles, the bitter realities and the challenges?
Nevertheless, there may be some who also go through such phases in their own country but we cannot deny the fact that at such stages, you have your people around.
Studying abroad:
Now, in a different setting, here you are, surrounded with people of different culture, values etc. Here, you presume you can learn about a third world that you thought never existed.
What’s best about growing in a different country is how you can never predict about time slipping away. Sometimes, you can even feel how time flies within the sip of tea or looking at a ship sailing in a sea. You’re thinking about today but also preparing yourself for the next day. And it’s amazing to experience the tough times that you never had when at home and at the same time solving the maze that’s right in front of you. Just like a moving train, your plans, your schedule just move on and sometimes just like the express train you automatically push yourself to the limit.
To be specific, abroad studies is about managing your money, time, studies, social life and a me-time. But, guess what, they are already taken care of and that too by yourself, on your own. Apparently, when in your home country you used to rely on someone else or used to take things lightly or even leave things for the almighty.
Note:
There are two perspectives to both, just like the two sides of a coin whether studying in your home country or abroad. My perspective on this is to never forget your roots and your people, wherever you are.
